Legislative Priorities for the 131st Legislative Session
Housing Justice Maine believes that everyone deserves a safe, affordable, accessible home, and together we can guarantee housing to all who reside here.
The affordable housing crisis in Maine is not new. What we face in Maine today is part of a long story in the U.S. of colonization, displacement and genocide. In order to realize true housing justice, we must create housing and land policies that right past wrongs and build equity for our future.
No person, regardless of race, gender, class, sexual orientation, age, ability, medical condition, disability, citizenship or previous criminal or housing record should be denied a home.
